benroch Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Saw this bass online on eBay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sire-V7-5-string-Bass-Guitar/183915913425?hash=item2ad23e20d1:g:J1AAAOSwE~pdS85U Quote
TheGreek Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 See, if it had a black scratch plate those strings would work....red tort and fluro green just don't. Quote
Cat Burrito Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 Dr Neon strings. I have a white set on my Rickenbacker. Quote
PaulWarning Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 DR Neons, I use them all the time, very punk rock, I get far more comments about strings than my bass playing Quote
Reggaebass Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 Not neons , but I’ve had a funky set on my P bass special for years 🙂 2 Quote
Oopsdabassist Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 (edited) Double thread Mashup, I have Green DR neons on my Yamaha BBG4S11 Edited August 11, 2019 by Oopsdabassist Hmm must take a better pic! Quote
TheGreek Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 ...but that works (yes, you probably do need to take a better picture) - the red scratchplate and green strings look like they were chosen by an over-active 3 year old. Quote

TheGreek Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I just bought a Squier PJ Special which I keep at work... Quote
binky_bass Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Just wanted to share... I HATE COLOURED STRINGS!!!! They makes all basses look cheap and nasty. It's the bass equivalent to having eyelashes on your car and it is NOT acceptable! Be ashamed all those who soil their bass with such tack! I'll be round the back of the bike sheds at 4pm if anyone wants to fight about it. (Over-arm fisty-cuffs style only though please!) *windmills angrily into the distance* 1 1 Quote
lemmywinks Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Some older members might remember the crazy green Pedulla with matching strings that a forumite called Shockwave modded, looked amazing. Wonder what happened to that. Quote

Just the one Gecko now. I have been very detached from the music community for the past 5-6 years and only just happened to log in today as I had PM. I had some success with my last band, but we broke up 2 years ago and have only recently started to care enough to start trying again though on the skinny stringed thing for a change. Also trying to start a family soon so I have stuck with the same bass for the past 5 years as well. Musicman Stingray, with a backup Jazz parts bass I have put together. Just havent been interested in buying and selling basses anymore. Lord knows I have had enough! Edited December 13, 2019 by Shockwave 3 Quote
lemmywinks Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 (edited) That's even brighter than I remember, should come with a warning! My little Leopard Gecko died a few years ago, never knew her age (she had two owners before us) but she was at least 19. Got a Coleonyx Elegans who is a great little guy and a pair or Ambystoma Opacum now. Edited December 13, 2019 by lemmywinks Quote
