Inspiration for this thread from a recent little purchase: can't believe that's it taken me so long to stumble across these cable ties or that none of my bass buddies have ever suggested getting them! So I use this to elevate my cab by 30cm which makes it a bit easier to get the volume and EQ right for the room and still be able to hear myself clearly on stage. I insisted the band use them for our PA leads as they woudl otherwise get tangled up and waste too much time at gigs setting up. Then we all started using them. If we are talking cheap things then i guess its been Eneloop Pro batteries. Its all i use these days and never had one go bad (yet). I've seen a lot of people posting about the more expensive wireless systems, but I picked these up for 15 quid on eBay. 6 hour battery life, less than 2.5ms latency, and a range of about 100 metres. I agree. Mine work on all my basses but not 100% on the Yamaha 425, unless i press the transmitter in harder and dont bump the bass. You can feel like a double click when you push it in, but the jack socket is trying to push it back out to the first position, which cuts off the signal. I mainly need it for playing the middle bit in All right now. Playing with a pick i find i end up letting the E string ring, when it should be the A. The FW works well for muting the open E. Quicker than the meths-in-a-tube approach, won't rust the strings and they remove sweat and muck no problem so your strings are really clean. Put a bit of polythene or something between the strings and your nice fretboard so you don't accidentally take the oil off that.
