MayflyGB
Hi there bass folks. Under the neckjoint/body of my Squier JV jazz from 83 is glued/attached a little piece of cardboard- saying "Fender 58, 11 ", does anyone know if it means anything concerning the body of the bass ? Is it a "58" copy or....? Greetings Per K / Mayflybass
John Cribbin
I'd say it's just a shim for the neck made from a piece of Fender card.
Bassassin
Might well be relevant to the model - the info may be here, or someone on the forum might know: https://www.21frets.com/

nige1968
I don't think they made a '58 Jazz first time round, never mind reissues. You might find your answer here, maybe? https://forums.fender.com/ Edited August 14, 2019 by nige1968 Attempt at helpfulness
