chris_b Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 . . . . does anyone play air bass? Only if I'm getting paid. Quote
Grangur Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 I find air guitars can be flexible and can change octave with amazing mind-control wireless switching. 2 Quote

Newfoundfreedom Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 My air bass is magic! It's totally invisible until after 6 pints. Then it comes out for everyone to see. Quote
ahpook Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 I wish I'd spent as much time working on real basses as I have on my air technique. Quote
odysseus Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Why is it that the lady gets upset when I'm using her botty as a drum kit when she's saddled up?... I wonder if Mike Portnoy has this problem... 😟 1 Quote
MisterT Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 This thread is useless without 'that' Partridge clip... 2 2 11 Quote

Ant1972 Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 I tried playing air-bass, but struggled with the tuning 1 Quote

MoonBassAlpha Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 I was air bassing along to Good Times in my head at our morning stand-up meeting. My boss asked if I wouldn't mind stopping doing that. He's a bass player too, but I suppose there's a time and a place 1 Quote
Bobthedog Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 I tried playing air guitar to a Jean-Michel Jarre album. It turned out to be a waste of oxygene. 11 Quote
oldslapper Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Always when I’m dancing. Dad dancing, with air bass, is my way of reminding our kids who’s in charge. 1 1 Quote
BreadBin Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 I got asked to join a band solely on the strength of my air bass. Quote

Marvin Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 My air bass is much better than non air bass playing, especially 5 string. Never got the hang of a non air bass 5er, but an air bass 5, I'm a genius. I'm an excellent air drummer as well, which is odd as I can't play non air drums for love nor money. Quote
mep Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 I was watching the office episode with that dance the other day. In the dance scene before David does a short bit of air bass to a Beegees tune. Quote
gary mac Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 There's a chap, who I believe does actually play bass in a Jam tribute act, who played air bass at one of our gigs in Stevenage. Not only air bass but air bass in the style of Mr Foxton. 2 Quote
dmccombe7 Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 When i was younger late teens maybe but it just looks a bit daft now at my age. Quote
Marc S Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Yes, I occasionally play air bass Turns out, I'm much better at playing slap air bass..... 2 Quote

Without the neck, all those frets and all those strings in the way I can knock out 'Forget Me Nots' just like Freddie on a broom handle! 1 Quote
tony_m Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 It's how I started. Everybody else attending the NWOBHM gigs at Blackpool Norbreck Castle was playing air guitar, so I chose bass instead. Seemed like a good career move... 1 Quote
