Jimothey
I’ve always wanted a Jag Bass and spotted this and thought hmmmmmm interesting?? Then I looked again and there seems to be lots of things wrong with it like the veneer on the front and back of the headstock, the tuners seem wrong style and the neck plate says “starcaster”???? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F163831228219 I’m thinking its a gear4music body with a random neck but for £20 I might still be interested.........🤔 Edited August 28, 2019 by Jimothey
Dan Dare
Even that would be a waste. That P bass p/u is in the wrong place (the cut out under the scratchplate was probably done with a cold chisel). He admits the heck is warped. The tuners are sh1te. Even the bits would probably not be worth £20.

Maude
I'll happily give him a couple of quid to buy some sidecutters and cut those bloody strings, grrrrrrrrrr 🤬 😂
Stub Mandrel
It's a strange Bitsa. The Fender Starcaster does exist, but that isn't one...

That’s what I thought if it was a starcaster it would be a hollow body not a Jag
Stub Mandrel
A bit of digging suggests that in the 70's they used it for budget guitars and basses along Squier lines. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Starcaster#Re-use_of_Starcaster_name Wiki says 'the basses were j-shaped' but the only example I've found is a p-bass: no wait! Plot thickens: But at best that one just has the neck plate... Edited August 30, 2019 by Stub Mandrel
Reggaebass
The neckplate is off of a fender starcaster jazz bass , I’ve had 2 of them in the past for projects , one was a decent bass the other was awful 🙂
Jimothey
The body I think is Gear4Music because the pickup placement on them is a lot closer to the neck than on a Fender??
