stewblack
What colour do you prefer with a red p bass? If not white...
grandad
My preference would be pearl white. I have this combination on a fiesta red Squire Mustang and I think it's a good match.
ped
If it has a maple neck and it’s bright red then anodised gold. Don’t know why fender stopped making aluminium ones, much nicer than plastic. Good gob g&l did them for a while but again they stopped too?!
ahpook
Well, seeing as you've made the mistake of getting a bass that isn't black your only option is a black scratchplate. A nod in the right direction at least 1

Gold is a favourite too

Deedee
Black everytime for me. Unless it's a blue sparkle P, then it's chrome 😎
Jean-Luc Pickguard
Aged white pearl or Black on a bright red such as candy apple red or darker transparent red. For a slightly lighter or more muted red like fiesta red, aged white pearl or solid off-white.

bartelby
A real chrome plate would be ok. But those thick plastic mirror jobs look wrong.
