Grahambythesea Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 The tort looks great, although anodised gold is cool. Quote

I’d see see a P with a clear s’plate, still looked a bit weird showing the routing from the pickups to the controls. 1 Quote

drTStingray Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Period correct and clearly the only choice for a fiesta red Precision 😀 1 Quote
Hobbayne Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 I have heard that the P Bass that Jet Harris is holding was the first one imported into the UK. I wonder what ever happened to it. Quote
drTStingray Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 (edited) I think you may be getting this confused with the Strat which Cliff Richard imported - birds eye maple neck, gold hardware - said to be the first imported. Jet Harris had a sunburst Precision before the FR one - hastily purchased after his Framus bass was damaged in a dressing room - the sunburst P appears on the cover of their first album. These FR (note all rosewood boards) instruments seem to have been provided by Jennings and created that classic matching guitar look (which lasted about 18 months) - after Jet Harris left, Brian Locking used an FR rosewood board Precision - possibly the same one (until they changed to white instruments). FinnDave Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Don't matter what colour the scratch plate is, it'll still sound the same! Quote
