What's your favourite finish on a bass?

I like loads of different finishes; olly white with a tort guard is up there, I like nice natural woods too - and quilted maple with a nice colour finish.

For me natural with a satin finish

 

 If it has to be a particular colour then probably aged OW is right up there:

Three colour tobacco sunburst, transparent blue burst, candy apple red.

But in all honesty, I like some variety.

Six string wise, my satin finished natural Ibanez is very lovely too, as is a white Tokai SG not sure it would count as 'olympic'.

I'm a fan of solid colours.Black, daphne blue, LPB, CAR and white in particular. I don't like seeing wood grain. Even though my P bass is 3TSB I dislike sunburst. It was annoyingly by far the best one I tried. I don't like tort or pearloid scratchplates either. Give me black or white any day. The white pearl one on my JMJ Mustang is destined for the spares drawer. Racing stripes are perfectly acceptable too.

All 3 of mine, my EB3, P-bass copy, and 335-style semi are well polished ultra gloss piano black - the semi-acoustic and the EB3 also have black necks and fretboards, the latter is even strung with black tapewounds.  

So I suppose my favourite colour for a bass is black........

Visible wood grain with no pick guards (which obviously rules out certain iconic and widely revered basses at a stroke)😊  Beyond that; whether colour-stained or natural wood and gloss or satin finishes; all these are fine by me.

I prefer solid colours over sunbursts or oiled finishes.  Preferably black, although (as posted elsewhere), if I could locate a Hamer Cruisebass I'd swing for any colour to be honest.
