The Lumineers - BBC One show

Caught the end of the One show last night on BBC1, and The Lumineers were performing.

They had an unusual bass, which after a bit of Googling turns out to be a Citron Byron , made for bassist Byron Isaacs. Am guessing this is a one off ?

Unfortunately not. Check out Morgan Monroe F4 . There's also a guitar version, T Bone Burnett was using one on Nashville.

I noticed that bass when played Glastonbury earlier in the year.

It needs one of those scroll heads, like the old Ampeg basses.

Mandolins don't have scroll heads. F5 ones don't anyway.

Didn’t John Rostill's Burns Bison "Shadows" Bass have a scroll head? As did Marvin's ana Welch's guitars?
