BrunoBass Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I’m looking to get a black hi-mass bridge to retro fit to a Fender bass; four string, five screw holes. Recently I bought and installed a Fender hi-mass bridge on one of my basses - all good, decent price, solid product, and I’d happily get another for this project but it seems they only come in chrome, and I need black to match existing hardware... So, I’m looking at Hipshot, Gotoh, Omega. What’s good, most stable, best playing, worth considering? Babicz are slightly out of budget. Quote

Lozz196 Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Gotoh are great bits of kit and look very much like the stock Fender bridges, just beefed up a bit, so if you don’t want to change the look too much def worth a look. 2 Quote
lemmywinks Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 (edited) Gotoh 201B are always a good bet, I have the 404 which is also great if you need through body stringing. Not keen on the bulkier Badass/Kickass styles personally with the square saddles buy YMMV, the Gotohs are a nice way of getting a solid bridge but without the chunky, angled appearance. BrunoBass Posted September 9, 2019 Author Posted September 9, 2019 Thank you all. I went for a Gotoh in the end. Quote
