gafbass02
Anyone know if this is do-able for not much cash? I have dismantled it but it looks kinda complicated. My father in law used to work in electronics and build hi-fi so I may get him to take a look. Has anyone done this? What sort of socket is needed...help!! gafbass02
Cheers dude, that all seems dead complex to me so it could be the switch rather than the jack. As its the same problem, wiggle the output and the signal comes back I'll see what aphex say but by the time I've paid for a repair this would cease to be a bargain. Ah well looks like I'll have to bite the bullet on this one.
escholl
i've replaced the switch on one of these before, and i took pics when i did it, so if you want me to post them and how i did it, just let me know. the jack shouldn't need replacing, but the solder joints may have come loose and need re-doing. It looks complex, I know, but in all honesty the circuit is pretty simple
gafbass02
Cheers dude, I can't do anything technical but I'm hoping father in law can fix it. Anyone got a link to a suitable socket and switch? I reckon it is the socket as there is a gold springy flat bit of metal on the top that sticks up too far compared to the other ones, making the contact with the end of the jack dodgy. Otherwise something like this for the switch and for the socket, just browse rapid electronic's site until you find something that looks like it will fit, or maplin might have something as well but their component selection seems to dwindle as time goes on.
