thewalruswaspaul
Ive seen one of these basses being sold in a music shop near me , I love the look of these basses but are they any good ? and how much do they generally tend to go for? Btw its identical in looks to the one is these pictures which i found on the net (pictures are a bit crappy quality though) http://www.madaxe.com/3/1/guitars/Burns/Ba...lim/bass/13.jpg http://www.madaxe.com/3/1/guitars/Burns/Ba...slim/bass/4.jpg
chris_b
They were not rated very highly at the time. If you had one you sold it as soon as you could afford a Fender!

BigAlonBass
Thanks , why was that , crappy pickups? bad construction?
They fed-back constantly, the tone was rather wooly, the electrics (at the time) were complete pants, and nobody seemed to like the "look" of them. They weren't very highly regarded at all as a "respectable" Bass to be seen using. Apart from that, they were great.
JoeE
I played one in a band in the early seventies through a Vox Super Foundation Bass amp. It sounded great and I never suffered feedback once. More difficult to play than a Fender but still a fine instrument in my opinion
Grahambythesea
Short scale, narrow string spacing, adapted from the guitar of the same name. Rather over designed by Jim Burns just before he sold the company. Electrics tricky particularly on the first versions where the controls were under the scratch plate. They never caught on, I don’t think any pro bands used them, unlike the Bison from the same stable.
