Tinman Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I hope this is in the right place. Does anyone know what the best stuff would be to remove scratches etc from a gloss laquered finish? I got some nasty scuffs and marks on my Eggle that I'd like to try and remove. Cheers Pete Quote

I tried some T-cut in a little area on the back and it seems to have left a kind of misty look to it. I was just wondering if the was something else out there. Quote
Delberthot Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 after you've used the T-cut, you need to polish it back to shiny again Quote

I'm thinking maybe you mean some kind of wax car polish, would that be right? Quote
Muppet Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Automotive products generally work, but they are designed for removing oxidised lacquer and paint so I'd not use them too often as they do actually remove a fine layer. Saying that, there is a product in a tube called scratch remover or similar, that works very well - found in Halfords. Guitar polish is quite good also and Fender do a 'swirl remover' product by Meguiars that they claim does the trick, though I've yet to try it. Quote
