The pots are the inside trickery of the knobs. If sound comes out when they are turned all the way down, its because they aren't perfect pots. Is it enough sound to be a problem? New pots is the answer then, pretty simple job generally.

Well,I dunno..theres a few bits you can 'Tweak' on a woman,some even change the tone and volume....not fitted with a true bypass though are you?

if the wiper arm cant discharge the signal to ground via the track
i thought this could be the cause of the pot not giving the required earth
the wiper arm could be misaligned
i am just shooting in the wind here... :)
