thedontcarebear
Went to try a MIJ P Bass and the dude had a JV Squier too, so bought them both, with a couple of cases! Will put some pics up in a bit if people are interested.
thedontcarebear
The one on the left (or top) is a no-name one, which is very nice, the middle is the MIJ Fender, and the last is the Fender Squier JV.
Sean
So how do they compare soundwise, build wise and generally? They all sure are very purrdy! Edited July 27, 2007 by Sean
thedontcarebear
I literally only got back 30 minutes ago, I want to clean the 2 new (to me) ones up a bit then I'll compare properly, the JV has a badass on it too, and I noticed with the JV that the tuners go the other way (strings are strung correctly though), but on the back of them the spiral bit thingy (that's a technical term) is the other way round to most basses I've played. paul, the
So how does the..er.. sunburst one with the white pickguard and maple neck sound?
Bassassin
Both of them will have been built in the same factory. Does the no-name bass have anything on it at all, country of manufacture or a serial number, perhaps? Jon.

Collector's item. Well done! I'm pretty certain that the maple board makes it a '57 re-issue, rather than a '62 like mine. Would also be interested in how much it cost and how they compare (I don't have a "modern" P). Edited July 29, 2007 by Sharkfinger
martthebass
Yup, I had a '82 P bass '57 re-issue just like that. Strap button on the back of the headstock and one piece pick guard. Wish I hadn't sold it....sob
