BassApprentice Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 This teaser looks interesting..... 1 Quote
BassApprentice Posted September 13, 2019 Author Posted September 13, 2019 Could it be as simple as 5 options of any toneprint from the database. Could be killer if it is. 2 Quote

I was about to post the same photo... If it is what you wonder, then I agree that it could be absolutely amazing. Especially if the buttons have that mash feature 🤤 Fingers firmly crossed for a spectra, spark, mojo, flashback, HoF... 1 Quote
dannybuoy Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 You might not see the Spark or Mojomojo as they're analog pedals. They could try to approximate them though, they do have the Spectradrive and Tubetone algorithms after all. I would have expected to see TC try out standalone digital drive, amp/cab sim and filter pedals at some point before they tried their hand at a multi-fx. Interesting to see what they come up with though! 2 Quote
stewblack Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 What would be amazing is five toneprints. Any you want, any combination. Swoon. 3 Quote
Chipps Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Yes please! I had a G-System and loved it. It was the size of a radiator though. Something like the Flashback X4 size would be awesome. And less than £500 would be nice... Quote

So average price of TC pedal is ~£100 x 5 I want to be surprised and say it might £300 but that's probably a bit low. Edited September 14, 2019 by BassApprentice Quote
dannybuoy Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 (edited) Much more than that though and they’re competing with the Helix HX Effects (£359) which probably offers a lot more than this. I’d expect it to be under £300, but then again we don’t know what ‘it’ is yet! Edited September 15, 2019 by dannybuoy Quote

BassApprentice Posted February 20, 2020 Author Posted February 20, 2020 Wow. That is exactly what I think everyone wanted from this pedal. Don't think it will compete with Helix but Boss and Zoom should be worried. 1 Quote
ben4343 Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 I don't see Headphone Out specifically mentioned, but if you engaged the cab sim and stuck a quarter to mini jack converter in the Output, could you use this as a headphone 'amp', or would it blow up them up? Can't find anything about a price yet... Quote
Owen Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 I can very much see the attraction. The price point is going to be interesting. Quote
Jonse Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 From the TC electronic Instagram page... Quote

Quote FX include: Hall Of Fame 2 Reverb, Flashback 2 Delay, Sub n Up Octaver, Brainwaves Pitch Shifter, Corona Chorus, Hypergravity Compressor, Mimiq Doubler, Vortex Flanger, Pipeline Tap Tremolo, Quintessence Harmony, Sentry Noise Gate, Shaker Vibrato So no overdrive/distortion/fuzz, no phaser and no filters. My board is pretty much filter, drive and phaser, so this would be about as much use as a chocolate teapot. 1 1 Quote

Whilst maybe they figured lots of people like their own existing ODs etc. so made the option available to stick one in the FX loop, I agree that its shame this isn't quite the single grab solution I hoped it might be (even though I had realised that there most likely wasn't going to be an option for the Spark or the Mojo). Also, 450 dollars is 350 quid... It is a lovely bit of kit I am sure (Mash on every knob, plus an EXP/Volume In is very cool), but not for me at that price. Quote
dannybuoy Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 (edited) I very much doubt it'll be £350 either, most companies have a habit of using a 1:1 exchange ratio for £ and $! I wish they'd waited until they'd fleshed out their digital FX offerings a bit more to cover the gaps, rather than rush this to market with things missing. They could make a killer envelope filter with their Toneprint tech if they put their minds to it! And they already have the Spectradrive and Helix Phaser, so why are those effects missing? Hopefully some of this stuff is on the roadmap. Edited February 20, 2020 by dannybuoy Quote
itu Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Is it possible to put 5 delays in line, or can I use just one at a time? Quote
stewblack Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 When they filter through to the for sale ads I might take a look, but I'm a little bit more excited for the new zoom multi fx - assuming they release a bass version Quote
songofthewind Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 Yep, I bet it will sound great, but too expensive for me, but I’m cheap, as you know. Quote
burno70 Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 It appears to offer less than it's competitors, which is a shame really as TC make some nice pedals. Quote
BassApprentice Posted February 28, 2020 Author Posted February 28, 2020 Hmmm, that's not cheap but kind of what I was expecting. Was going to hold off anyway until there's a few real world experiences/reviews. Quote
stewblack Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Price is coming down on these. Seen them new for 330. I think that's pretty good. 5 individual stomps and a tuner for just over 50 each would be pretty good business, but this offers a lot more. I like multi fx I can play like individual pedals. I shall be interested to see if they come down any more any time soon. 1 Quote
