velvetkevorkian Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Hey all, Has anyone tried the Digitech Hardwire DL-8 pedal? I'm looking for an affordable looping pedal and this seems to tick all the boxes- priced around the £130 mark so not the cheapest though. How does it compare to other similar pedals (Headrush, Line6 etc). Any opinions or suggestions welcome- mainly interested in the looping features rather than the delays. Cheers. Kyle Quote
velvetkevorkian Posted January 20, 2009 Author Posted January 20, 2009 Bump back from page 4- the DL-8 is currently £99 plus £6 shipping from Absolute Music- anyone tried it? Is the Akai Headrush better? Currently leaning towards the Digitech for its smaller size and slightly lower price- any other suggestions? Quote
Toasted Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 What about the Jamman? There's ALOT more features there. Quote
burno70 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I bought an Akai Headrush for £100 about 2 months ago and love it. It doesn't have the features of the Jamman but as a straight forward, simple looper, it's the balls. Quote
d-basser Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 (edited) *edited* was gonna flog my looper but changed my mind * Edited January 21, 2009 by d-basser Quote

All I want is to be able to record myself and layer tracks on top of it- if I want to record it I'll use my PC. It's also bigger and more expensive. I don't need it for delays because I have a VF1 which does all I need there. The only thing I would really like (that I don't think can be found without spending a lot more money) would be multiple independent loops, but I don't care about being able to save and export them etc. Is that reasonable? Toasted Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 More than reasonable. These hardwire pedals got a ***** review in Guitar Buyer this month. Quote
velvetkevorkian Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Is that 5 stars or something untypeable? Quote
The Cooler King Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 £130 is a lot for a pedal like this. Check out the Boss RC-2, should be ab;e to pick one up used for £85-90 and has longer loop time plus the ability to store 11 loops. Quote
velvetkevorkian Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 The DL-8 is down to £105 delivered brand new... Quote
Dosi Y'Anarchy Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 hey, the boss DD7 can be got for about £100 and i think it has a 40sec loop - double that of the DL-8 Quote
velvetkevorkian Posted January 31, 2009 Author Posted January 31, 2009 Well I bought the Digitech new locally, mainly as an impulse buy- decided to put my money where my mouth is for once and support my local independent shop. Will report back after I've played with it some. Quote
