Guest MoJo
To save me taking them out, does anyone know what value the pots are in a Yamaha BB424 or BB425 (I imagine they’re the same in both basses)? I love my BB425 but I find it a bit dark sounding for some of the rockier tracks we play, when compared to my P-Bass. I’m thinking a 1 Meg pot may help, especially if the originals are 250k. I’ve taken the control cavity cover plate off and all I can see is the manufacturers name on them, Alpha.

Vinny
As far as I'm aware, when the pot's fully open it has no effect on the sound, they only remove treble rather than add it.

That’s correct, so I’m hoping that the 250k pots are bleeding off some of my BB425’s top end. I have a 1Meg pot on the way. See what difference that makes
