Reggaebass Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 I saw that last night, the headstock didn’t look right to me 🙂 Quote
Happy Jack Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Well, the headstock, the scratchplate, the pickups, the tuners, etc. 1 Quote
Reggaebass Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 After a closer look, everything 😁 1 Quote

bassaussie Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 I actually love the placement of the stickers on the headstock. It's like they've gone to the internet, made a list of every sticker they could see, sourced those, and said "right, where can we put these"! It's hilarious. 2 Quote

vinorange Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 The decal application is absolute class. Fender really should adopt those techniques..... Quote

Many people confuse these, as the width of the cross on the head is .95782344 mm for both years. The only way to tell the difference is to measure the depth of the cross - for 1963, it's 1.09761524mm, for 1964 it's 1.09761522mm. People who know their Fenders can hear the difference, there's clearly more depth in the sound of the 1963 screw. 1 4 Quote
Bassassin Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 If anyone's interested (which I suspect no-one is, but as usual I'll bang on anyway, sod the lot of you ) this is an East German-made Musima, probably mid-80s. Identifiable from the combination of the protruding truss adjuster, and the odd use of rather classy Gotoh Resolite tuners. Loads of Musimas seem to have been sold unbranded, which as this one shows, makes them a prime candidate for the application of fakey stickers. Dunno if the gen-u-wine Fender screw makes it worth the £77 it's currently bid at. 4 Quote
