Happy Jack
This is really rather tasty, reminds me of my old Crinson. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Super-Rare-Blackpoole-Relic-51-57-Precision-Bass-Killer-Spec/401851050701?hash=item5d90306acd:g:gF0AAOSwQKZdWCIu The given explanation ("Blackpoole Guitars were renowned builders of relic instruments. This bass dates to around 2008 to 2010 when the company was disbanded. It was the classic case of victims of their own success. Demand was so high they couldn’t meet it.") contains at least some weapons-grade bull stinky poo so I'm not convinced about the rest of it ...
troubadour
Passed me by, but checks out. Quick Google of "Blackpoole Relic Works" comes up with some interesting results. Particularly the open letter on the Seymour Duncan site. Looks like he struggled to meet any kind of demand. So this would be a somewhat rare completed one. ash
As Troubadour says looking at Google it appears that it’s a similar story to Dr Bass. Where a product was raved about and then sheer numbers of orders and poor management caused its downfall. The victim of its own success perhaps? https://www.seymourduncan.com/forum/showthread.php?188254-Blackpoole-Relic-Works-is-no-more!
prowla
I'm thinking there's a reason for them being rare... (...ie. they didn't sell many!)
TheGreek
Needs a good clean IMO
Bassassin
Looks like a generic Fender copy covered in filth. One of the things in life I simply am not equipped to "get".
wateroftyne
IMO they look like a Skegnesse rip-off. 1
lemmywinks
Terrible relic job that is instantly recognisable as artificial. What's the obsession with making basses look like they've been used to unblock a septic tank? It doesn't look old or well used, just fake and dirty. 2
Bassassin
Not really clear how the poor soul behind this knockoff brand "couldn't keep pace with demand". I'm pretty confident I could buy a bunch of £90 Harley Bentons, kick them around in the mud a bit and knock out 10 or so of these a week. Easy. Hobbayne
Well. Whether or not you're a fan of Limelight relics you can safely say this comes nowhere near them.
ash
Agreed - I’m not a fan of the trend to disguise crap with more crap.
Happy Jack
Not sure if this link will work: I think it likely that quite a few of these negative comments could have been chucked at my old Crinson. I do assure you, they would have been desperately misplaced and inaccurate!
kodiakblair
Nice little earner for somebody. Pretty sure that bass sold on eBay end of July for £341. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Awesome-Partscaster-Relic-039-51-Telecaster-Bass-Not-Fender-Not-Squier-/323859997411?hash=item4b678f62e3%3Ag%3AtKQAAOSwudBdLgex&nma=true&si=ROjRO9ZZjNtTW7ESk5qfa7pH3NY%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Bassassin
Yeah, it's the same bass. Depends if anyone's really going to cough £650 for it.
