gjones Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Bossa Nova covers of Cradle of Filth stuff, does nothing for me. Don't get me started on Ukulele bands covering Slipnot tunes. I think there's a new music genre - Smug Irony. 1 Quote
Woodinblack Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Some of richard cheeses stuff is brilliant, not the friends one you posted. How about this: Bearing in mind I really like the original. 2 Quote
dave moffat Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Music is a matter of personal taste, I like stuff from pretty much any genre but rap is spelled with a capital C 1 1 Quote
MisterT Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 I only dislike 2 genres of music; Country _and_ Western. Quote
bubinga5 Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Norman Brown for me is Smooth Jazz among a few other favourites . His guitar playing is way out there good. Most of the bass playing is pretty special on his albums. Sharay Reed has played on a few tracks. This is great. imo. Quote
bubinga5 Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 (edited) I think this is just superb in every way. Very funky smooth jazz from the man. The sax playing is so fantastic near the end. Edited September 21, 2019 by bubinga5 Quote
Dan Dare Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 If it enables decent musicians (you can't be a duffer playing jazz - smooth or any kind) to make a living, I'm fine with it. Don't care for it myself, but different strokes for different folks and all that. 1 Quote
4000 Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 I've just listened to the KITNO again and was in tears. Genius. 1 Quote

It's very funny 👍 The contrast between the original vocals and the jazz instruments is subtly brilliant, and for me actually highlights the vitriol. Quote

I could easily waste an evening watching Richard Cheese and Hayseed Dixie videos on YouTube (and have done on several occasions) Then top the evening off listening to a bit of this....
