John Patitucci Yamaha hollow body version 2

Anyone know anything about this gorgeous instrument JP is sporting at about 47s into this video? Did he happen to have one at the LBGS? Looks like an update to the curvier hollow body he was seen with about three or four years ago?

Just before the five minute mark you can really hear the tone of this thing. Much like the previous hollowbody bass, it really doesn't sound great to my ears. That's no slight on John, as he sounded great using both Ken Smith and his Yamaha TRB basses. But these hollowbodies have a tone like rubber bands over a margarine tub.

I think he's going for a 'jazz box' sound but in a bass...

Yeah, when he goes high it sounds like a DI'd nylon strung 6-string guitar from the 1990s.
