Hmmm...... Is this really the bass that Gene Simmons used for most of his career? And the strap that he used on quite few of his tours. Couldn't he afford a new strap for each tour? And the first Spector bass ever made. THIS MUST BE THE MOST COLLECTIBLE BASS EVER! But 0 bids.

I checked the video for 'unholy' and it does seem to be the same or a similar bass used.

Seen best around 1:07-1:14.

The photos ARE of the bass that Gene used.... but this seller doesn't have it. Notice he has ZERO feedback and is obviously out to scam.

The ACTUAL bass sold for something like $25,000 at a US memorabilia auction a few years back to a big KISS fan in the US....

Now that's odd as the sale ran to the end and went for £3600!

<edit for more info>

Whoever wanted it wanted it bad as they placed 9 further bids in excess of their £3600 bid... "Cetera"! :)

For £3,600... if I a ) had the money and b ) knew that the auction was genuine would have very willingly paid every penny.
Must be a scam though, I quite reasonably asked for the seller to send some more pics and I never even got dignified with a reply.

I bid up to just over £2000....just in case, you understand :)

I'd willingly have paid more (if it had been genuine - which it quite obviously wasn't!) but no way I could afford it.....

A huge scam... just hope the winning bidder didn't pay up!

Yeah, I hope they didn't pay too. It's an absolute dream to own a bit of 'KISStory' especially one of the stage used guitars.
On a similar note I'm rather happy as I've just recieved some pics of the Axe bass I ordered! I'm am more than happy, especially how much it set me back :)

I used to own Ace's 3p/u '69 black Gibson Les Paul Custom, in it's original case, but I sold it on....

What 'Axe' have you ordered? The official 'Gene Simmons axe' or a custom build project?

Wow! Is that the 'Rocket' guitar?
It's a custom built thingamybob. I can't afford the real thing and even if I could I'd be afraid to play it!

It was one of his main gigging guitars.... but it did have a neck p/u surround taken from one of his smokers (complete with burn marks!).
