Golchen
I realise that this is a bit of a daft question as 99.9% of you will probably think it's a pile of poop, but I was wondering if it would be of any use as a cheap practice amp? I need something small enough that the wife won't even see it when I sneak it into the house and hide it in the utility room, and I quite like the idea of the cd/mp3 input for practice purposes. Do you think it would be any good for this? Al Heeley
I think they make great little practice amps, good spec for the price, with all the effects features. You're not expecting knockout tone from a 15W 8" speaker, it does just what it says it will, for grooving along to and learning songs. Al Heeley
The recent Bass Guitar mag #40 has a review of the LD15, gives it 4.5 out of 5 for value-for-money, octaver and chorus modelling particularly impressive, overall a great buy for around-the-house if you accept the limitations of size/power. peted
If you don't need the effects, then I also recommend going for the LowDown Studio 110. Though, I was using the CD/MP3 input jack with my Tascam yesterday and the speaker isn't really great for full range sound. I should think it's OK to play along to, but impossible to actually work out new basslines (I've got some posh Sennheiser headphones to do that!).
