johnpaulbass
Hello guys, I need a help... I'm planning to do myself a "in ear" pedalboard which will be very simple: aguilar tonehammer - compressor (mxr m87 probably) - tuner (boss pedal tuner) I would like to put this on a pedaltrain nano and would like to run everything through a Xvive v19 (https://www.thomann.de/gb/xvive_v19_micro_power.htm) power supply (putting the tonehummer in the 18v input and the other 2 pedals in the 9v inputs). Will be there enough power or is better to leave the aguilar tonehammer having it's own "power" using it's original power supply ? Thanks in advance for your answers. cheddatom
The Xvive v19 only supplies 300mA I can't seem to find a definitely spec for the current draw of the tonehammer, but a couple of talkbass threads suggest it's 500mA MXR 87 is only 19mA according to this site: https://effektpedaler.dk/en/product/mxr-m87-bass-compressor/ Boss TU-3 draws 30mA So you want a power supply can can do 550mA or more. It looks like the Xvive won't cut it v19
dannybuoy
I find 500mA difficult to believe for the Tonehammer. It's analog and has no tubes, probably well under 100mA. It works on 48V phantom power too btw! EDIT: 7mA according to the manual: http://www.aguilaramp.com/wp-content/uploads/manual-tone-hammer-v1.2.pdf Edited September 26, 2019 by dannybuoy
johnpaulbass
So there is a power supply that would supply enough power for those 3 pedals ?
dannybuoy
That's not much current, so pretty much any power supply with 9v and 18v outputs. Or a standard 9V supply with an 18v converter tip.

I looked at the manual but missed that

cheddatom
the one you linked will be fine
dannybuoy
That one'll probably be fine... It doesn't have isolated outputs though, but you probably won't need them. If you want to buy one supply now that'll fit under a nano, has isolated outputs, and don't mind spending more on the premium stuff, look up these: Cioks DC5 / DC7 Truetone CS6 Strymon Ojai R30
