You mean a "Made in the USA" sticker isn't worth £500+ to you?
Delberthot
Is that a compensated nut and zero fret on the Ray models?
OutToPlayJazz
The higher range swamp ash Sterling Rays look nice. Not sure what the difference is going to be between these and a £1000 MM, though. Probably about £300 by all accounts
stoo
Is that a compensated nut and zero fret on the Ray models?
Looks to me like a reflection on the painted part of the headstock and a normal nut to me, but hard to tell from the photo in the brochure.... stoo
Although these pics from NAMM show things a bit clearer...
stoo
The SbMM's have hit the market in the USA already.... well, not quite, but their website is live and GC have got them listed with prices... just not in stock for another month. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Sterling-by-Music-Man.gc $599 for the SB14 (ie Sterling equivalent) $649-679 for the RAY34 (SR4 equiv) $699-729 for the RAY35 (SR5 equiv) So, allowing for the likely exchange rate in a months time.... these should be hitting the market in the UK at about, what, £3500 each? stingrayfan
Did anyone else know about this? I just tried to visit their website and was told the "Thank you for all the years of support. The OLP brand has been retired, starting in 2009." Seems a shame if you ask me, from what I could tell they were decent quality for the money.
Haha...now watch the scramble to get one by those who'd previously written them off as cheap copies. Nothing like a shortage/hint of collectability to create demand.
solo4652
What about the OLP TB4 bass? Can't seem to find out anything about it. Anybody tried one? What's the neck width?
Jono Bolton
I only found this out the other day too. Quite sad really, I've been toying with the idea of using one for a project for playing heavier stuff as an alternative to my P and J, much like Sibob's "Thingray". I'd tried a couple that were really nice, but I really wanted a shot on one of the MM22s.
