P-T-P Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I have played this bass and it haunts me! I wish I could afford it. If you can, don't hesitate.
Born 2B Mild Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 That is an amazing instrument. Good luck with the sale (sigh).
6stringbassist Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 (edited) I would love this, I've played two Smiths and both were amazing. And I should add, that Mr Platypus is a really nice guy to deal with. Edited January 4, 2009 by 6stringbassist
flippyfloop Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Are you interested in trades + cash ? I have a GB Rumor 4.
Platypus Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 Thanks for all the nice comments guys. I've pm's answers to any questions asked, I think. While I'm not really looking for trades, I'm not adverse to any suggestions either ! P
Gwilym Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 bump! Platypus very kindly let me go round his gaff today to check out this bass (and a lovely Spector too...). It was just as I as expected, very very nice indeed. The passive sound was great, and with the eq on it just sounded monsterous. Nicely balanced, not too heavy - I'm sure whoever picks this up will be very happy! I'm just happy that 6 strings is 1 too many for me, and that Platypus doesn't take credit cards

nobodysprefect Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 "I'm back/at the beginning" Had a metric funkton of stuff happen lately, some bad, some good. "there's a time/a time and it's right for me" The time was right for me to have a Smith after a decade without one. I'm getting back to being a muso again.

There's a nice cello piece and then there's that entertaining bit where the flautist and the violinist trade licks and the sailor's horn marks the spots where the tempo goes up a notch - what's that sailorly tune called? I made a thread in off-topic: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=38478 as I got an idea: let's post clips to interesting music that comes from a land foreign to us - I get to post anything except Finnish music and so forth. Could be fun!
