£650 heh.

Are prices looking up?
After fees £600 (if paid by paypal)... is that better or worse than 2008?

I've just watched a Warwick Streamer with a smashed headstock go for £418, which is about what a perfect condition bass was worth last year! :)

Based upon what I've noted in the last month or two I'd say that Warwick prices have turned the corner (hopefully) so I'd bet that MM will be going the same way.

The bass market is very fluid. You can get some stonking bargains and then see some basses sell for more than you'd think. - It's just the timing/luck of you selling what someone else has suddenly got massive GAS for.

+1, a few months ago a completly standard black/rosewood stingray 3eq sold for £850 BIN, whilst the next one i saw of the same model sold for £510, its all about the right buyer at the right time. Anyone wanting to sell their 'ray id advise unless they need quick money NOT to lower their price without giving it a good few weeks on here or ebay, chances are you might get more than you think

If you search back through the for sale threads you can see and remember that it used to be normal to see standard stingrays going for £850. I think there was a real bad patch during late summer where on ebay people were selling stingrays for £500 or sometimes even less.

Jeez, have you seen this one?

"Custom" paint job - looks like someone tried to go for a distressed look with a couple of tins of Halford spray paint. If my kids ever did that to one of my basses I'd lock them in their rooms for a month. Oh my god what was he thinking of?

I liked this:

Weight: 10 lbs (4.54 kg) - varies slightly

What's going on then? Matter-energy conversion? I think we should be told.

I've been offered that 'Custom Job' (painted by a five year old) Stingray 5 for £490 as the buyer dropped out or something. I bid on it this morning hoping to get it for that sort of price and do it up myself, but something else came up on this forum this afternoon which I had to have, so sadly I won't be able to rescue it.

This is a nice US 5-string, but what really puts me off is just too many exclamation marks, I just don't trust them. A good Stingray needs no exclamation marks, he's trying too hard. Oooh got Gas.
