I have a 1984 mij precision with a mirror sccratchplate, I want to change it for a tortoishell, and although I have removed the screws on the control knobs, they still wont come off. The Burpster Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 piece of card on the s-plate to stop scratching it if you wanna keep it andf then gently prise the corners of the knobs with a flat blade screwdriver.... repeat on different sides of knob until it loosens up and then pull it off. Quote
