What are the brightest steel strings in the sub £25 range/

Hi

Just wondering what the brightest steel strings are in the sub £25.00 range, I like a super bright tone for my band and change my strings much more than most people so a  £35 set of DR's is out of the question , I have tried Rotosounds and they are really good but wondering if there is anything else worth trying.  The stainless steel Ernie balls have caught my interest but there seems to be very little info out there on them.

I've mentioned these on here before but give the Warwick Red Label strings a go - mega cheap and they're pretty good IMO

Anything that is stainless steel, roundwound, and less than three hours old. Someone told me that it is the time Mr. Miller keeps strings in his jazz in studio.

D'Addario Pro Steels are what I'm using, was always a fan of DR highbeams and the Pro Steels, are to my ears, a close match.

Yep, very near in sound to Rotosound steels but a fair bit cheaper and - for me at least - last about twice as long.

I have a set of Warwick Reds on a bass - been on there for ages but TBF it doesn't get a lot of use.

No idea how long they last but I had a set of those Alice strings from China on a bass for a while - too zingy for me but for a fiver they may be worth a go.

Yeh try the Warwick Red Stainless ones. I prefer DR Hi Beams or Dunlop Super brights but the Warwicks are half the price and not far off sound/longevity wise for me. I get about 3 sweaty gigs a set from them and i like zingy strings.

D'Addario Pro Steels IMO are the brightest, and also nicest feeling round wound strings. Come in various gauges and under £25.00 👍

I tried them for a while and whilst there was just something missing in the sound for me (think it was the pro-steels are a little scooped sounding) I have to agree, by far the nicest feeling round wound strings I’ve ever played.

Really clean strings, squeaky clean if you wanted. Easier than the meths in a tube approach as you can just clean the strings in situ, and easier to leave in a gig bag than lighter fluid. Slip a piece of plastic under the strings to protect the fretboard if you want to.

Cool , will have to give this a try, my hands sweat like mad when I play a gig so will come in handy
