andytoad Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 I just chanced upon this, thought it looked rather nice, a ‘98 do you think? Original finish? https://symphonymusicstore.co.uk/other/3524-warwick-streamer-stage-one-bass-guitar-pre-loved-great-condition.html Quote
warwickhunt Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 It's original finish but I'll bet the paint is flaking off in chunks! Price is steep, I've got several better 'W' basses for sale... for less money! Quote
andytoad Posted October 1, 2019 Author Posted October 1, 2019 I did that no it was pretty expensive, but looked nice in tobacco (?) burst. Quote
warwickhunt Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 I've seen a few in that finish and every one has had a fault with the paint adhering, it invariably flakes off in slabs. Quote
andytoad Posted October 1, 2019 Author Posted October 1, 2019 That’s a shame, how’d that pass QC? Quote

andytoad Posted October 2, 2019 Author Posted October 2, 2019 Oh yeah I remember now, I played that Spector round yours that time! out of interest, do you still have that 4 string Warwick in read, the beaten up one? Did it sell? Quote
prowla Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 One of my projects is an RB. It's got pickups and i just need to buy some pots and wire it up... Quote
Shaggy Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 At the risk of sounding the curmudgeon I undoubtedly am; I would never buy anything (1) described as "pre-loved" (one wonders exactly what sort of relationship the former owner had with it.....), and (2) priced at anything ending in ....£99. Just call it £1.5K for F'----s sake. (Christmas coming? Bah humbug........) 2 Quote

Funnily enough, I know someone who had a 5 string in the finish and it had flaked off everywhere! Quote
