RossHetherington
So I've just received my Fender Player P Bass (had to order the bass as they didn't have the colour I wanted) and it all sounds good but when you play an open E it sounds fairly weak and hollow. I presume this is just a set up issue, is there anything I can do myself or do I need to take it over to the shop?
CamdenRob
Probably just a duff string. I used to use TI rounds (for the price of which you could acquire a perfectly serviceable entire bass from Harley Benton et al) and one set I put fresh on had an E string that was almost silent... like a wet rubber band... straight out of the packet. Cool I've got some La Bella's coming as the Fender ones are pretty cruddy so will see.
