josh3184 Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Had a search but only found topics telling people to buy a fretted neck instead! Just wondering if anyone had an idea of how much this usually costs as a ball park figure? I've wanged off a few emails to Mr Shuker and the likes but no reply as of yet- wondered if anyone had done similar? Quote
joe_bass Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Funny you ask this as I was just wondering myself! Quote
Dread Bass Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I think some fretless basses have quite a flat fingerboard radius compared to a fretted bass so i dont no if that would make an impact? Quote
josh3184 Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 hmm thats true... hmmm, will need to chat to a luthier methinks. Andy, have you checked out the topic I posted in "Bass guitars" about the double buck thats goin cheap for a new one? Thought you might be interested with your new found wealth! I'll post it in your request thread too. Quote
bass_ferret Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I have spoken to Bernie about fretting my black one and having a new fretless built and he is of the opinion it will be easier to put a new FB on it. Quote
josh3184 Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 have had an email back from jon shuker and he seems to think a refret of a bolt on will be around £100 as a guess. If I'm honest, I thought it would be worse, thats not too bad in my opinion! Especially as the bass in question is a 6 string Quote
