Teachers in Oxford Area?

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone knew of any good teachers to study with in the oxford area? I'm at Uni there, so would be hard for me to travel outside the city too much (although I would consider reasonably close outside). I've been playing classical DB up to grade 8 with a teacher for the last year and a half but since then, my technique has gone to pot and I'm getting lazier and lazier with my practice. Basically I just want a good jazz teacher who could also go over arco stuff to kick me up the arse!

Thanks,

Hector

Hey Hector,

I don't know a teacher in Oxford but if you haven't been already, the Spin club there have some really great Jazz on and some cracking double bass players. They could teach you or know where you could find a local teacher.

Good luck :)

When I was at uni in Oxford I had lessons off a guy called Domonic Lash. Excellent teacher. Plays upright and electric. Teaches jazz, reading etc.

Would definitely recommend him. He used to live off Cowley Road. Don't have a number for him, but he was very good.

Here's his myspace.
