Biggsy Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 By the way, also noticed this when searching ebay; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1992-Rickenbacker-40...tem330309948635 Another lefty Ric, currently sitting at £750ish with a BIN of £1400ish
josh3184 Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 not bad, shame about it being in the US, you can add an extra 300 for shipping and tax at minimum

josh3184 Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 oh god, missed the post on the marriage front, congrats man! dont let go of the ric no matter what though, they're like flippin hens teeth!!
Biggsy Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Cheers! Been putting it off forever but can't get away with it anymore, haha. Selling the Ric would be a last resort but weddings cost a fortune and I'm none too confident of being able to save enough without letting some gear go. Who knows, Ric may announce complete ceasement of lefty basses in the meantime, doubling the price! hehe
josh3184 Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 well I sure hope not for my sake who knows I may buy it off you yet- I'll trade some cufflinks for the wedding for it!

Do the 4001's have a different truss arrangement*? I remember reading somewhere that they're not suitable for nickel /SS strings, but I may have dreamt it...? *Edit: To 4003's? deezbar Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Aye up mate!!! glad you're good bro.thats great you had the schecter defretted, bet it's a beast now.i'm thinking of having the modulus quantum 5 converted to a 6,its a extra wide neck, and then defretted. Got some lefty corkers.. a Zon Sonus special, Warwick thumb 5 B/O (which is awesome) etc. The one ive gotta say is the Sandberg i had build for me!! Its a California JM lake placid blue with black hardware, but i requested a 3 band Eq. Its got the Marcus tones and with the 3 band you can dial a lovely mid funky jaco fingerstyle funk tone. its great us lefties can cavort here.got some good pieces coming up for sale soon. take it easy pal..D
Hi Dave How you keeping buddy? I will look forward to see what you have you had some fine instruments last time i visited. I still have the Schecter but i had it defretted its mad ahaha.
yorick Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 And i've got first dibs on the Zon......... Lucky get!!!
Biggsy Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Seems the Ric we first followed has now been relisted.. Potentially with a few new parts: £2600 If the one at a grand doesn't rocket too much that'll be a great deal, it appears to be quite a rare model.
Biggsy Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 (edited) A heavy looking, but useable double neck .. and I can't remember if anyone's montioned the SEI on ebay; Edited March 10, 2009 by Biggsy
whynot Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Lovely SEI there. Noticed this on leftybass.com at 2k. Headed Flamboyants can suffer from neckdive but depends on the body wood.
