My 2008 Leftie Rickenbacker 4003 Jetglo has gone walkies while in the care of a courier company.

I would love to hear from anyone who has been offered an improbably cheap 2008 Leftie Ricky bass or has doubts about the parentage of one they have seen.

When lost, it had a Pickguardian black pickguard and various other 'upgrades'. The original bits were in the case, so it may have been put back to original, but I have the serial number and there are a few other things that will show me that its mine.

Went adrift in silver Rickenbacker hardcase with all the candy.

The guy who bought it from me is very keen to receive it, so any help from the leftie bass community would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Bob
Did this turn out to be the one on leftybass.com?

Yeah they are really solid guitars, the neck is really thin great for those with small hands. The adjustable nut is a nice feature. Quite a defined mid range sound in passive mode and lots of lows when u put it in active mode and turn up the bass. The older models didnt have a concentric volume/tone pot - this allows you roll off the highs in passive mode. I think if you add upp the parts that make up this bass it comes to about the asking price without including the body and neck.

Hey guys does anyone here know where I can get a descent lefty 6 string( 18/19mm spacing). I have about £1000 but don't want to go custom just yet as it will be my first 6 string...
Thanks in advance...............

Versatile to say the least  Need to sort out one last grounding issue and then it should be my main bass. Making me consider trading the Ray for another Warwick+ a bit of cash and doing the same tbh, its that good

Definately don't get a custom! I bought one last year and found 6 strings really wasn't for me. (This year I've done the same with 5 too lol!)

At least you got it secondhand and didn't have to pay the full price of a brand new one. Your financial loss would have been massive if you had tried to sell that :). It was a beautiful bass though!

Very vague listing... no original pics. Very dodgy.

Are you saying this eBay poster is selling the stolen bass? Did you send it special delivery? Was it insured? I wouldn't post anything worth over £100 unless it's insured and I can blame the delivery company if they lose it.

That's not a 2008 like the one missing: it still has the reverse fingerboard inlays, and they're not full-width.
It's cool, and well worth following :)

Just a quickie, I know a guy selling a lefty 70's P-Bass for about £800/£900-ish and a lefty MIM Jazz for about £200ish. He's moving to Scandanavia but his parents have his bass gear in Southampton (I think) but he said they'll post them or whatever.

I really don't know anymore details about them, but can put anybody interested in touch with him. :)
