Pickup covers on new Fender US 75 Reissue

I have recently acquired a new 75 Reissue jazz.

It came with the pickup covers and I'm thinking of just adding the rear one so my questions is two fold.

What difference will it make to the sound?

What would you advise is the best way to fit them/get them fitted?
