markbunney Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I love mine and use it all the time. I’ve started to notice that it doesn’t fully mute when I user the tuner though, which is annoying. It’s not the note from the bass coming through, more like a weird pulsing noise. 1 Quote

If it’s on a daisy chain, try it on its own power supply to see if it fixes that. 1 Quote
markbunney Posted February 9 Posted February 9 It’s just the unit on its own, not daisy chained to anything. I noticed it with a new active bass, need to try it with my old bass and see if that is the problem. as an aside I keep looking at getting the Tech 21 fly rig. I need a few FX in my band but haven’t got the patience for a big digital multi FX unit Quote

With the speaker and bite switches disengaged it’s can cover a lot of non-metal ground. Then taking the Sansamp element out of the equation with the blend knob fully counterclockwise, it’s a great simple 4 band eq. Despite the manual saying different, all 4 eq’s work this way. 15 hours ago, Cosmo Valdemar said: I've had one of these for a few months now. For me it's the best Tech 21 preamp yet, very hard to get a bad sound out of it and VERY versatile. As I've probably mentioned in this thread before I'm not a fan of Harris' flatwound typewriter tone at all so it's definitely not one for just the Maiden fans! I've tried lots of Tech 21 preamps over the years - the Leeds has always been my go-to, I did use the Dug for years but that has a very distinct character that was always there. The VTs never worked for me. I think the XB Driver could topple the SH in terms of the tone I'm after but honestly I doubt I'll ever get to try one thanks to the diabolical pricing over here. Absolutely, this pedal is capable of dialling just about any bass tone, there's only problem.. I should've bought one when it came out. 1 Quote

markbunney Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I don’t think I ever did register the warranty. I’ve had it since they were released so I would think any warranty would have expired anyways Quote
