scrumpymike Posted February 17, 2021 Author Posted February 17, 2021 (edited) OK guys, it's decision time again! Despite the positive trend at the moment, we're looking at putting this back to September 19th to be really REALLY sure. We want the event to be completely free from even the slightest covid concern and, equally important, to not be further complicated by any covid-related safety measures that will increase the already considerable work-load on the team. July or August would probably be equally good but I can imagine that holiday catch-up plans would impact on attendance. Comments please! Sorry for any further disappointment caused but we WILL get there! Edited February 17, 2021 by scrumpymike 7 Quote
Woodinblack Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 All understandable. Harder for me on that date but probably easier for others. I was wondering about it being tight. Although everyone knows that all bass players are over 65 1 Quote
Jabba_the_gut Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 September is fine for me and I think a sensible suggestion for all the reasons you mentioned. Really looking forward to catching up with everyone. Cheers 1 Quote

Unless one of the variants really cuts loose, we could hgave done it earlier but September seems the right time. Infections will be naturally lower and the vaccines should have really done their stuff by then. 2 Quote

GrahamT Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Unfortunately that date won’t work for me. We’ve got a narrow boat holiday planned for the 12th to 26th September. Quote
scrumpymike Posted February 17, 2021 Author Posted February 17, 2021 Thanks for the feedback. Given that no-one disagrees with our reasoning in terms of covid, I'll confirm that date with the hall - which is their only free Sunday in September btw. Sincere apologies to woodinblack, GrahamT and anyone else who isn't free to attend. 1 Quote

Stub Mandrel Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 Perhaps re-update the first post? 🙂 Are there any recommendations for accommodation on Saturday night if I decide to make a weekend? Quote

If what they're now saying about everybody being vaccinated by the end of July, I'd say Sept 19th should be spot on. Can't wait to demo my Mesa Subway TT800 and sell a few bits and pieces. BRING IT ON!!! 2 Quote
