rasher80 Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 i'd love this - but i just don't have the money at the moment! have a friday bump on me
Apex Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Two questions Nick! Have you (or anyone else!) tried these cabs with a 5-string? If so how do they cope with the low B? Secondly (or is that three?!) can you see any sensible way of getting the rig towards Bristol? If not, have a Bump anyway!!
Delberthot Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Would these cabs be loud enough to gig without PA support? The reason I ask is that i normally use a Schroeder 1212L which can easily out perform my guitarists 120w Peavey 5150 combo. I'm looking to sell my cab and I like Celestions.
Apex Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009
Hi, Sorry for the delay, I've been away. The amount of bottom end this rig produces is ridiculous, especially considering it's size. I have tried it with drop D tuning and it manages without any probs. The spec alone of the celestions is not all it seems as these speakers sound like they have more low end than others speakers I have used whicj have an apparent lower frequency response (according the manufacturers specs). I think you would be fine with a 5 stringer on this rig. Regarding transport I usually use an online courier. I'm sure we could work something out if you are still interested. Regards Nick
Nick, Sorry, I was trying to sort something out fairly quickly for early Feb, so when you didn't respond I accepted an offer of a 115 Ashdown cab - delivered today!
lowrentdiscographer Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Lol Nick, I wish I'd seen this at this price before I splashed out on a new Hartke. Would have saved me a fair few pounds. Unfortunately I've had my head stuck too far up my cab-building @r5e to notice it. Oh well, Bumpety-Bump Bumpage! for a very well loked after bit of kit with a few custom touches. S.
nickcarey Posted February 10, 2009 Author Posted February 10, 2009 Yet another price drop folks - you are getting a bargain here in mint condition!
lowrentdiscographer Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Nick, have another unashamed bump mate, this really can't hang around at that price. S.
