Hazza2004 Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 (edited) Hi I’m looking for something a little bit different but still reliable on a budget. I’m looking for something full scale and maybe Japanese. I’m on a tight budget an I’m sort of stuck and any advice would be very much appreciated, thanks, Harry Edited October 17, 2019 by Hazza2004 Quote

DoubleOhStephan Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Something pointy or a bit curvy? What sort of noise are you hoping to get out of it, what music are you playing? What's your max spend? Quote
hooky_lowdown Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 What's the budget? You don't give any specific's. Quote
DoubleOhStephan Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 If you can afford £250, for my money you can't do better than a Spector NS2000/4. Not sure if Mick is keeping this one if he sells the NS94, but if you can persuade him to let it go, buy it (the orange one) Quote
Paddy515 Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 (edited) Go G&L used Tribute L2000. Different enough and sounds/plays awesome for a budget bass. Or for Japenese with a bigger budget, FGN basses. Edited October 17, 2019 by Paddy515 Quote
jezzaboy Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 What about one of those Aria Cardinals, I think thats what they were called? Quite rare but the last one I seen was £350. Quote

I’ve just been looking and seen some Rickenbacker 4005 copies around, has anyone had any experience with any? Quote

Not getting played basically because I never manage to coax a tone I like out of a single P! Quote
Defo Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Cort are doing some tasty budget basses at the moment Quote
OliverBlackman Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Is this different enough? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002D00O6 1 Quote
RobF Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 (edited) Different, but medium scale is the Retrovibe LPJ style. Love mine in burst finish around £245 on eBay . Or you can go direct to website. Edited October 19, 2019 by RobF Quote
