john_the_bass Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 I've seen a couple of these switchless wahs and i understand that if you take your foot off them, it goes back into bypass mode. What if you want to leave your wah on and half open for that halfway in betweeny open wah sound? Quote

Toasted Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 The automagic MSD would fill your requirement... It is £170 and getting hold of them can be quite difficult. silvermachine.de Quote

tayste_2000 Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 There is the Dunlop Q-Zone (Might be MXR) that is a stomp box that is setup to be like a wah pedal that you set half open or whatever. I've tried every bass wah out there and none have impressed me like the MSD Quote
Toasted Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Or, get a 105q and get used to holding your leg steady for that "fixed wah" sound. Quote
Metal-Mariachi Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 The Automagic Silver Machine and Earth Quake wahs have an on off switch as well as the auto on/off feature. So it can be used either way. You can see it in the photos just below the tone/q switches. http://www.silvermachine.de/en/silvmac.htm http://www.silvermachine.de/en/quake.htm The older version with just the flat plate is a little awkward to use sitting down, and takes a little getting used to. The new version has another switch (seen in this photo), which may make it a little easier to use. They make a kit to convert a Cry Baby, but I couldn’t find it in the price list. http://www.silvermachine.de/en/autmagic.htm Of course you could also go this way. dudewheresmybass Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 the ibanez weeping demon has both switchless and traditional modes with nothing more than a flick of a switch. Quote
