Sterling Sub Bass 2012 / latest model

Hi,

I have the opportunity to buy a 2012 sub. Now I'm not an expert in this field, but there in no country of manufacturer anywhere on the bass. The serial number dates it to 2012. (See pic)

My thoughts are do I run with this at a good price or go for the latest versions that arent too expensive either. Is there much difference in workmanship.

Does it have the "hot preamp" issue?  It was acknowledged by Sterling by Music Man and they posted a fix.
