NickA Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Noticed THIS in Shephead's Bush crack converters today! People who made it are proud enough to put it on their website. http://www.jacoland.it/site/jacoland-barcelona-simone-feroci-signature/ Surely they didn't make more than one!!!! Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Amazing what you can do with sweet wrappers & glue 1 Quote
NickA Posted October 25, 2019 Author Posted October 25, 2019 Supposed to look like Gaudi mosaic work .. I think. Quote

NickA Posted October 26, 2019 Author Posted October 26, 2019 Knobs is extra mate .. got to wonder how crack converters came by it and how much of the £1900 asking price they paid to the "owner". Quote
Bassassin Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 This has been causing some consternation on the Ebay etc board! https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/364787-jacoland-barcelona-custom-built-guitar/ Quote
NickA Posted October 29, 2019 Author Posted October 29, 2019 (edited) Snap! That thread says "eBay items only" so I put it here instead! Presumably someone commissioned and paid a load for it ... Possibly Simone Feroci himself, as here he is playing it! Maybe it was a gift from jacoland ... which for some reason, he didn't much like ( except for the knobs, which he kept). .https://m.facebook.com/simoneferociofficial/photos/a.3247995105240617/3247994978573963/?type=3&source=54&ref=page_internal. He lives in London according to LinkedIn ... so maybe traded it himself? But why with crack converters not wunjo or the gallery? Anyway, I tracked him down and messaged him; it was indeed his and he sold it to crack converters as he was short of ..... cash! Edited October 30, 2019 by NickA new info 1 Quote
uk_lefty Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 I can see what they're trying to do but it's not working for me. Quote
Pea Turgh Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 The headstock looks like someone set fire to a bit of driftwood, then went mental with Quality Street wrappers, then decided to make a guitar. Mental. 1 Quote
mangotango Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 Apparently they also make an EUB...on their website, there are pictures of it being played by John Patitucci. http://www.jacoland.it/site/drop-upright-2/ Doesn't look too bad, but I can't see him trading in his Yammy for that any time soon.... NickA Posted October 30, 2019 Author Posted October 30, 2019 Probably good instruments. ( Bartolinis, hard wood body, nice through neck). Just the Barcelona special seems to have been designed during a mescal trip. 1 Quote
