Before I go to all the trouble of getting a friend in Australia to buy me one of these and ship it over, I thought I'd ask to see if anyone knows of a UK retailer selling them for a price that isn't totally heinous. Or if anyone knows any private individual that's considering selling one used?

I've decided I definitely do need one now, it's just a matter of where to get one.

That's something that will be sorted out by simply flashing a ROM chip somewhere though, surely? It's not as if there are irreparable faults on the current units.

Yeah, you're absolutely right - that's why there's the SDcard slot on it. It just seems to me to have been rushed out, and there's lots of users reporting crashing / hanging and when you're spending $600 you really shouldn't be getting that.

Personally, two footswitches and two knobs doesn't seem like the most effective user interface either.

I also massively disrespect Godlyke from stopping private stores in Australia selling to individuals in the UK. It really gets my damn goat.

It would directly replace a couple of pedals I've already got (Korg G5, Robot Factory Pulse Synth) and maybe some others, so if I can get one for about £400-ish I'd be happy to pay that.

I use oscillator tones a lot, and lots of different filter settings, so having a programmable filter in there too makes it almost irresistible.

Anyway: Does anybody know if it's feasible to shop for one in the UK, or should I call a friend in Oz?

I'm not sure how prevalent the crashing issues are - maybe I should ask on TB, see how many people are affected and whether they've sorted it out with the firmware updates that have already been issued.

I agree, but there really aren't many options if you want the sort of sounds it does. I looked at the FreqBox but that's too noisy, my Pulse Synth is a bit tricky to tame too (although a bit of attack delay from a BMS helps massively), the G5 is nice but I only use the sawtooth and it's HUGE...

The most obvious omissions to me are a program down footswitch and an exp. input. But it still looks like a great box.

I don't really like what the Deep Impact does. There are a couple of sounds on there I'd use but not enough to justify the price - much like the G5.

I'm not sure if you're talking about the OS or the G5? ;)
