Hit&Run
I've got an aphex bass xciter, and was wondering if the signal from it should go into the active or passive input on my amp? I'd have thought it should go in the active input, because it's extremely similar to an active EQ circuit. Does anyone have any definitive answer to this? Non-definite is OK as well. Thanks, H&R
thisnameistaken
Try both and see which sounds better (if either). The only real reason for using an input marked "active" is if you're getting distortion when plugged into the "passive" input. The active input will pad the signal a bit to avoid overdriving the preamp, and AFAIK that's the only difference.

Toasted
I would guess that the active input would sound better, but you might like the sound of the passive input. It all really depends what sounds good to your ears.
Hit&Run
I'll try out the active and passive inputs at my next gig (next week). I was just worried about causing damage if I got it wrong. Cheers guys.
