miles'tone
Hey guys n gals. Has anyone here bought or played the Classic Vibe 70s Jazz? Nice to see the bridge pickup in the right place this time! They look great, but do they play and sound as good as they look? dannybuoy
I've been eyeing them up also, I'd like to compare one to the Geddy Lee!

I've seen on YouTube it said that the CV has a thicker neck, front to back, than a modern C. Much more of a handful than the toothpick Geddy neck then! The Super skinny neck is the only reason I've never owned a Ged. My fat shovel hands said "NO".
dannybuoy
The USA Geddy Lee has a much thicker neck apparently, that might be more up your street, but obviously costs slightly more than the Squier!
Lozz196
If the Classic Vibe lives up to its reputation as being better than the Vintage Modified then imo it has to be good as I’ve been amazed at how good my VM77 Jazz is.
dannybuoy
Nowadays, I think they are equivalent. The Classic Vibes used to be built in a different factory in China, now I think they're all built in the same factory as the VMs. In fact a quick search turned up hardly any VMs for sale, they must have been discontinued! Machines
I bought a 2nd hand 2018 VM 2 weeks ago. It's taken me by surprise just how good it is. Easily on par with my old MIJ Marcus Miller sound a playability wise.
krispn
I’m off to view a CV on Sunday and all going well I should have it for £140, possibly less if the ‘buzzing’ is something which needs a bit of attention. I have high hopes!
Geek99
VMs are very underrated
Rikki_Sixx
These look great, I know it's not the "old" CV line but I've heard great things about the quality. Very similar in build and materials to the VM line, which is absolutely worth the money.

alexpea
Recently got the 5 string version. I'm really happy with it so far, haven't used it in anger yet tho...
