Cuzzie
What will they have in stall come 5/11/19?
Muppet
Replacing the Elite range with an Ultra range is what I hear.... minor tweaks and a couple of new colours I'd imagine, to justify a 20% price hike.....
Pea Turgh
Maybe they’ll be like the Musicman range - all roastie necks and contoured heels. Or maybe they’ll Ibanez them up to appeal to all the rockers. That’s what the vid sounds like anyway!
miles'tone
Looks like they want the Satriani heads to climb aboard.

yorks5stringer
All will be revealed on Bonfire Night...didn't Gibson burn a load of Les Pauls?
itu
Could the header have been: "Old Fender lineup"? I may be repeating myself, but a different colour in Jazz is nothing new, isn't it? So if they would do something novel, what it might be?
Bleat
Robot bass tuners maybe?
krispn
Is it the mod shop going online or is that already revealed. It’ll be the high end/price hike ultras. They’ll be running out of synonyms for ‘fancy’ before too long!
Cato
On the plus side when the Elite range came out retailers started selling off the old USA Deluxe stock with £500 discounts so if the Ultra range is replacing the Elites there might be some real bargains on the way.
thodrik
Hmm, a new name and some finishes I would think. I would guess that there is more innovation on the guitar side than the bass end and that Fender will develop some kind of 'Super Strat' incorporating high output pickups (the 'Shawbuckers' screamed like hell at higher gain levels) and a flatter shred radius, basically borrowing from their Charvel sub-brand. In terms of the bass side , I just expect a couple of different colours, perhaps a 'new and improved' compound radius and a bunch of marketing videos with some social media influencers. Jean-Luc Pickguard
I can imagine what kind of developments I would like to see on the American Performer Mustang bass: The Jazz pickup looks awful - its too big - this could be replaced with a strat-sized pickup (like the cool rails enclosed humbucker I have on a musicmaster) - perhaps with bits at the side like a jazz to mount it or a chrome surround / extended bridge plate. Stacked vol/tone pots for each pickup so the jack socket can go where it belongs on the control plate. Ditch the greasebucket circuit Same lightweight tuners but with Lollipop paddles Classic mustang colours - Candy Apple red, Daphne blue
uk_lefty
"You'll never play a guitar the same way again.." or words to that effect. The new range is going to be entirely left handed with just one shitty bottom of the range right hander in black only with no options. A small recompense from years of neglecting left handers. That's it, if you want one you have to play it upside down. 2

Delberthot
I've got it - they're replacing the entire bass range with the Bass V - you'll never play a Fender the same way again because the top 5 frets are missing
HazBeen
Fender is changing headstock design to resemble a dollar sign?

Trueno
No more short scale basses, please, Fender. I'm happy with my Squier Jag SS and trying to keep my foot off the GAS.
TJ Spicer
Elite being replaced with 'Ultra'. A lot of the changes are re: neck profile/radii and new generation pickups. It's not very exciting re: the bass stuff, but the guitars have quite a few super-strat type features. Nothing to be excited for us I'm afraid (if you're me at least!)
