Steve Lawson Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 (edited) Hi guys, I've got a few London shows coming up fairly soon - August 22nd I'm playing in two different line-ups at Darbucka World Music Bar in Clerkenwell - first in my duo with Lobelia - you can hear tracks from that on My Myspace page and our version of Black Hole Sun on her MySpace page. And then second set I'm playing with Monk AKA Ric Hordinski - singer/songwriter, guitar soundscapist/looper and fantastic producer. The line up will be Ric guitar/vox, me - bass and his drummer Josh, both of them over from the US (we're doing the Greenbelt festival together over the bank holiday weekend). Tickets will be £6 on the door, great food available at the venue during the show or upstairs in the Lebanese restaurant before hand. Doors 7.30, music starts 8. London gig #2 - August 28th I'm playing solo at The Spitz as part of The Arctic Circle night, alongside Max Richter and Hauschka. Tix are £6.00 London gig #3 - Sept 6th sees the return of the Recycle Collective, this time at The Vortex in Dalston. The first one features me with two vocalists - Cleveland Watkiss and Andrea Hazell. Cleveland is one of the most versatile singers I've ever come across and can cover everything from beat box to soul, opera to reggae toastin'. Andrea is a mezzo-soprano with the Royal Opera, and another fantastic improvisor. The two of them together, with me making lovely bass noises, is a wonder to behold! Ticket price TBA, but all details will be on The Vortex Website. And I'm also playing in Milton Keynes on Sept 9th - see my site for details as I get more of them! Hope to see you at one or more of the shows!
