fretmeister Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Ooof GuitarGuitar have them for preorder at £1799.00 https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/191106350870008--gl-usa-fallout-bass-racing-yellow-with-black-racing-stripe That's a nope from me. Quote
Graham Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 I'm not a fan of short scales, but that is very elegant Quote
Low End Bee Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 £1799 ouch. I'll wait for the Tribute version. 1 Quote
Sibob Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Cool bass, really like the Racing Green colour. Presumably it's hand-built at that price-point, but yes they'll do very well with a Tribute version I should think. Si Quote
gary mac Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Might have to get one to partner my Fallout guitar. Quote
Bobo_08 Posted November 7, 2019 Author Posted November 7, 2019 Yes I believe these are hand built at Fullerton Quote
Bobo_08 Posted November 7, 2019 Author Posted November 7, 2019 Bit too steep for me, US built Mustang is considerably cheaper. Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 These look nice but not £1.8k nice 2 Quote
Bobo_08 Posted November 7, 2019 Author Posted November 7, 2019 (edited) I think a tribute version a smidge under 500GBP would sell well. Maybe these a limited edition fullerton run to launch the model and then it will go out as a tribute version in a few months. I dont think there are many people dedicated to short scale basses to pay that sort of money, for most people even those who like the format I get the impression they are not their principle instrument. burno70 Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Wow - these look awesome. I do love the original mustangs with the stripe and I like these even more! I like all the colours too! Quote
grandad Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Yes, I think I'll stick to my Squier VM Mustang in sunburst. Quote
ped Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 I mean it’s not cheap but it’s probably what you’d expect for a Fullerton made instrument, the fact it’s a few inches shorter than a normal scale bass doesn’t mean it’s going to be much cheaper. Quote
Trueno Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Luckily it's too expensive to fall into the GAS zone. Maybe I'll win on ernie. 1 Quote
Dosi Y'Anarchy Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 Yeah, I was so hyped for this until finding out the price, bring out a Tribute model and I'll be all over it but at that price, it totally killed my GAS 1 Quote
CamdenRob Posted November 9, 2019 Posted November 9, 2019 (edited) I’m not really one for short scale but they certainly look the business 👍 Price is not surprising if they are fully built in the US. Costs money to make stuff in countries you have to pay people a reasonable wage. Edited November 9, 2019 by CamdenRob 3 Quote
Dosi Y'Anarchy Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 I agree to an extent, but the Gibson DC bass is USA made, and is well under a grand, £736 to be exact. Two short scale, USA made basses with single humbuckers (both with options for changing the tone of that humbucker). The fallout does look great and sounds great in the demo video too Quote
